286 posts · Joined 2014. #9 · Jun 5, 2023. I had done some Internet research on reliably expanding defensive 9mm ammo from a 3.1" barrel. Pretty much anything that tests well from a P365 (or M&P Shield) would work for the XMacro Comp since it's the same barrel length.
Yes, if you buy the optic-ready p365 instead of the p365X you lose the flat trigger, extended grip, 2 rounds greater mag capacity (if applicable) and they don't stamp an "X:" on your slide. The comp definitely makes a difference, especially with self defense ammo (I use 124g HST standard load), but the X Macro comp is basically $150 more. Tacops has two additional mags @ 50 bucks each and the X Macro comp is generally 50 bucks more. I bought a Wilson XL grip module to swap out when I want a more concealable carry for either. The P365 X-macro isn't that much smaller than the stock m18 but is definitely thinner which would help with printing. If you wanted smaller the P365X is a better option without going to a much shorter grip in the P365. Specifically the Macro grip module with XL slide installed. From pictures it looks like the rail portion of the grip module is longer so probably not but wondering if anyone has checked.
