Mine was starting to leak, and liquid was living in the valley of the engine. This is how I found out mine was leaking: U might jack it up and check how free the wheels rotate. That would create some heat depending on how bad the caliper was sticking without necessarily much associated smell especially if your running ceramic pads. So we know the 2012+ JKs certainly CAN run cooler if they need to. Yet they were designed to run at the temps they run. Must have been a reason.
