Mine has never really been a "Shooter" as my Model 60 22LR can rival it in accuracy. I shot it today averaging 3" groups at 100yds. It has an 8-32X40 AO scope on it, good trigger job and a recently polished bore.Agree with everything you said Steve. Nothing worse than dumping your rounds in the dirt in an effort to unload. The mag is much faster, cleaner and abundant for less than $10. As for the "jab in the back" . These pages have the details of how to shorten a marlin 882 mag to 5 rounds so it's near flush with the stock.

My 882 is bolt action. Boyd's offers a stock in xt 22 mag only in tube feed tho. The only stock they offer in the bolt action is the 880 SQ, but do not specify if it is in the 22 or 22 mag. From everything I see the 880 is only in the 22 lr. I think I need to call them.
