The 5.3 are more plentiful and you can still get alot of power by a simple cam swap. Ls1truck.com and lt1swap.com is where I got my info from. Dirty Dingo slider mounts for about $100 is the way to go. LS motor and any trans will bolt together and drop in with no welding. The easiest would be to get a bellhousing with an external Slave cylinder from an early nv4500. The NV4500 is also a hair longer than the nv3500 and you will either need to cut and paste your existing driveshafts or get driveshafts from a similar year/model from a gmt400. Oct 23, 2017. #3.

It depends on what year truck you're putting it in. The motor mount plates i think are the same for all 5.7 to LS style swaps in our year range. You can use the stock exhaust manifolds if available with the engine, just make sure you also got the 8" pieces that have the o2 bungs.If you are not racing and just want to use the 5.3 as a daily driver, that 95 trans should hold. I have a 5.3 with a 1997 4L60e as daily driver and have put 10k miles since the swap. U have to get the adapter for the flexplate and longer bolts.
