Fall Graduation. August 1 - September 15. December Ceremony. Students who apply online for graduation between the posted dates will have their legal name listed in the commencement ceremony program. Students who wish to have their chosen name listed in the commencement program should contact the Graduation Team after applying for graduation.
The UMBC community is committed to creating an academic environment in which teaching, learning, and research are conducted according to the principles of academic integrity. Each new degree-seeking graduate student entering UMBC is required to pass the test by September 15 (Fall) or February 15 (Spring). The academic year is comprised of the Fall, Winter, Spring, and Summer Semesters in sequential order, beginning with the Fall Semester. The academic calendar will be updated for the new academic year in late August after the end of the last summer session. Current Academic Year: Fall 2023 - Summer 2024 First Day of Classes.
