The levels the builds come online is actually fairly similar for both builds since you need ~6 class feats for both. The fact the build in op uses both an advanced weapon and weapons in two different weapon groups really hinders the proficiency bonuses they use at early levels.
From 9th level, a Sniper gunslinger can take a two-action activity to add an extra weapon die of damage, plus 2d6 bleed. This requires the target to be flat-footed. One of the stranger things about Pathfinder 2e's Ranger is the use of the word "warden". In the Core Rulebook, there's a Warden feat chain starting with Monster Hunter and Monster Warden. Pathfinder 2e is about teamwork and strategy, so even a class like a fighter can ( and should) be a support class. One of my favorites is Ranger with the Marshal archetype, using a shield and a whip (or scorpion whip if your gm will allow it, but it doesn't matter much).

The original ranger was a half caster, and focused on a favored enemy and an animal companion. This tended to pigeon hole them into a sort of half-druid. Now in 2e they've lost the gimped spellcasting, and gained a powerful bonus against their chosen prey. If you want a pure damage bow build then do slayer. The sneak attack damage is insane. You dont get spells or a companion but your pure bow dps is much better. Reply. [deleted] •.
