The "Flat Stick" has a small collar that locks the ball to the brass thread they epoxy into the ball in whatever direction desired. They supply a special wrench to tighten in the shifter kit. But IMO a large round shape like a 2 1/4 inch diameter cue ball size helps especially with my often used 4th to 7th shift.

Received 153 Likes on 70 Posts. No. It blows away the previous gens' shifter feel, IMO. As Kracka said above, it's almost as good as the S2000 shifter's feel, which was widely praised. Having previously tested a C6, and not liking its clutch & shifter, I made sure I test drove a C7 prior to pulling the trigger.
