Sure could use your help on this one... My 39M Mountie was made in 1967 and after functioning flawlessly for decades, it had developed an occasional failure to feed over the last year.

The Model 39 is designed to not hurt it's self when dry fired. However, we are talking about beating on those parts with a hammer. Literally. My worry is that some day, some how, the firing pin stop will wear enough to allow contact with the chamber. If that happens we've got a problem.Model 39A firing pin. Dec 12, 2015 · I believe that S/N should put your rifle at 1906. Can't help with prices, but shouldn't be too much on the firing pin, and worth every penny! As you can see the rebound hammer has more metal, so that it will hit the crossbolt safety. The strut is just held against the rear of the hammer, with spring tension. The pre Safety strut is held into the hammer with a pin.
