According to this dealer, if the Wrangler has the second/aux battery, the load and charging tests can take up to 6 hours, instead of 3 hours, using whatever device/method FCA has for that test. And....about 6 hours after I drop it off, the determination was that the main battery was bad and it was replaced under warranty.

When ignition is on and alternator voltage is above 13.2 volts the backup battery is charging. A DC to DC inverter seems ok for charging a battery at the rear of the truck since that battery will never charge the same as up front using an isolator due to the long cable lengths and loss to the rear. Slight problem is the DC converter is not 100% efficient and will take more power to charge the battery than the battery gets during charging.
