I found that there was a ridge in the casting on the left side of the hammer. The …The reason for the price is that when pulling the hammer back, it clicks 5 times instead of 4. The first 4 clicks are seemingly correct and the timing seems fine. The extra 5th click is at the very end of the cocking process. The Ruger's loading gate felt much more solid, and stayed open better for takedown, than the Heritage's did. The Wrangler takes this one too - wider, more comfortable and taller in the grip frame. I had to shift the gun in my hand less when cocking the hammer between shots.Wanted to share that I also had an issue with the loading gate and hammer - both were bent/warped. I was able to hammer the loading gate flatter but no luck with the hammer. Don't try to drop the hammer unless it's pulled all the way back. Those middle positions are to free the cylinder and not have the hammer resting on the firing pin. Pushing it forward can damage your pistol.

Heritage rough rider not working. I have a heritage rough rider with maybe 300 rounds through it. I was shooting the colibri 22s through it that have no powder and are very quiet. Suddenly the gun locked up and the hammer would not go beyond two clicks back. I took out the cylinder and the hammer functioned fine.
