I've always liked the combination of the alloy lower and a 17 - 18" barrel. The rifle is a bit lighter and shorter, and the balance point is pretty close to the all steel 50.00 configuration. Might be just my imagination, but the alloy lower/21" balance just feels a wee bit "off", although certainly not a huge issue.

Lower goes together without issue and functions no problem. I have a coonan reciever and the carrier, and top cover without issue. The DSA para bolt carrier had some small burr's on the rear portion of the carrier i had to file out. oddly enough the carrier and top cover wont fit in an imbel reciever
