and you cant put 31 spline axles in a 28 spline housing. bearings sizes are different. 79-93 is one length, 94-98 is one length and 99-04. All explorers and trucks with an 8.8 had a 31 spline trac lock. There was no such thing as an 8.8 until 1983. Not all F150's and Explorers have Trac-Lok, as it's an option.
