Turning font smoothing off only makes things worse. I'm just wondering if there's something particularly wrong with this screen or if it's just the way it is. I'll have to find someone with one of these machines on campus or whatever and compare. It's not horrible, but I certainly had better screen font res on my old Thinkpad 600. Steven
