Someone on my server made a whole walkaround balcony with a breezeway and pillars under and it looks awesome. Connects seamlessly to their second floor just like you have here, becoming a matching breezeway for the raised part of their land. I’m definitely stealing that design, because yes, the devs did account for this and they did a great job!

Anything more than a single layer of walls do nothing to protect your base.
