The VDC & Slip lights were still on. Later while driving to Dallas with the cruise control on - I experienced the same sudden single 'bucking' event again - and then I continued to drive not using the cruise. The SLIP & VDC OFF light came on and stayed on. After the trip home the SLIP light went off, however the VDC OFF light remains on. Is there another way to reset the VDC without taking it in and paying $80 for a diagnostic.

What I have seen on the xterra is the steering angle sensors out of adjust, this will turn on the lights. You will have to reset with the nissan scan tool, for center wheel adjustment setting. Vehicle: 2011 Nissan Xterra Pro-4x (35k total miles) with lift and 295 tires. Have had lift and tires now about 30k no issues. When I start the Xterra I have the "Diff lock" and "SLIP" lights. Tried disconnecting the battery, the whole drive straight thing, brake pads, rotors, fluid has all been done recently. Starter, battery, alternator all tested good, starts and runs just fine as if the lights weren’t on.
