This is only evident when the Car is running for longer period of time but when this does happens I can smell a bit of a burning sensation. I'm assuming the oil is leaking down to the alternator area etc.

The gasket and filter are easy to replace and that is a common source of oil leakage with this engine. When putting the new one on I used silicone gasket maker to seal it. It's still leaking. Save yourself from tearing apart the front head to fix this oil leak. Sadly, Honda doesn't sell the gasket and you need to buy the whole VTEC assembly, this also requires you to remove the front valve cover and camshaft assembly to replace it.
