It is stamped 3/88. when I removed the feed tube from the valve assembly, I noticed there was an o-ring on it where it threads into the bottom of the valve. It was disintegrated. While looking at the Old Coleman Parts site. I noticed the feed tube shown on their site for a 288 model is two different colors. My tube is a light tan all one color.

The lantern is date stamped for 1992, but I feel like I bought it in 1994 or 1995. While working on the 228E, I changed its mantles as well because they had holes in them. It fired up as well on Coleman fuel. I've never used gasoline in it. I stopped at a yard sale yesterday and got a few old parts lanterns and globe for a grand total of $10. This propane lantern looks to be in pretty good shape, but I cannot identify it. I was wondering if someone here knows what it is. The globe says Corning, but I don't believe they made a lantern.
